Coming Soon Trailers

Not sure what to watch this weekend? Well here at Deluxe Video we sift through all the trailers of the upcoming movies and tell you what to watch and what to avoid. Because we care about your time, loyal reader…and perhaps because nothing is as much fun as righteous anger when a trailer fails to deliver the goods!

The End Of The Tour

An adaptation of The Rolling Stone Journalist David Lipsky’s conversations with the Infinite Jest novelist David Foster Wallace.

The End of The Tour trailer comes off a tad bland and fails to capture any real drama or Wallace as the Brilliant but tragic character that he was. However it is fairly understandable that the nature of this film does not lend itself to that type of medium.

When to see it: Theatres. Ignore the fact that Wallace’s estate objected to this film and all the negative reviews from journalists that claim to be “friends” with Wallace. If you were a fan of The Infinite Jest or curious to see The End Of The Tour has what it takes to earn an Oscar nod, check it out.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation

Hey another Mission: Impossible movie. Let’s be real, this series is all the same movie with slight variations. Either you love Ethan Hunt or not, I personally do not. I do like the cast however, so I can’t say this film is without any value.

When to see it: VOD it. seriously, rewatch the old films if you feel a need for the MI fix. There’s nothing new here.

Vacation

A new geneation of Griswolds? I’m sold. Ed Helms playing the role as an adult Rusty? I’m all in.

Despite the great casting and a cameo by Chevy, This trailer may have a few chuckles but most certainly does not share the other Vacation film’s DNA.

Vacation appears to be a retread instead of a reimagining of the series, and the trailer provides no incentive to buy into this new series, too bad considering the excellent casting.

When to see it: I love the casting, but the plot line disappoints… Netflix it.
