Bad Grandpa ends Gravity’s 3 Week Reign at # 1
Bad Grandpa Starring Johnny Knoxville of Jackass fame earned 32m this box office weekend. Unseating the sci-fi epic Gravity from a 3 week run at #1 and
proving that the Jackass brand is still strong, and people are still willing to line up to see Knoxville‘s hidden camera shenanigans.
Bad Grandpa features Johnny Knoxville‘s alter ego from previous Jackass films, Irving Zisman is on a journey across America with his 8 year-old grandson, shenaningans ensue.
Gravity Starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney still took in an impressive 20.3 million, cracking the 200 million mark domestically in it’s 4th week.
Tom Hank’s pirate flick Captain Phillips retains the third spot at a solid 11.8m bringing it’s gross total to 70.2 million for the third weekend.
Ridley Scott’s The Counselor opens at #4 at an absolute terrible 8m gross. Even the All star cast could not save this film from it’s terrible critic and audience reviews – scoring just a 35% on the tomatometer.
This Ridley Scott directed thriller starring Michael Fassbender as a lawyer who dabbles in trafficking drugs have had reviews ranging from “worst movie of the year” to “incredibly dissapointing”. So viewers beware.
