DVO Podcast: Remakes and Reboots.

We discuss Hollywood’s reliance on remakes and reboots, and what it takes to make a good one.

March was a big month for remakes and reboots.  Between Death Wish, Tomb Raider, and A Wrinkle in Time (which was Disney’s second attempt since 2000 to turn Madeline L’Engles childhood fantasy novel into a feature film) many high-profile second efforts hit the cinemas.  While they won’t be the last such films in 2018, we thought it was a good time to look at some famous and infamous remakes to hash out what goes into a successful remake.  Along the way we discus some of our favorites in this category, as well as handful of awful films that should have left the source material alone.

Coming Soon Trailers: Red Sparrow, Death Wish.
