What New On Vod: Amazon Prime June 2016

What's New on VOD: Amazon Prime November 2017.

What’s New On Amazon Prime

I love Netflix, I really do. They have plenty of original content and comedy specials that are exclusive that keeps me subscribing. However I’m lucky enough to be in a place where my Prime and Netflix accounts are non-negotiable. I’ve been aware for some time (particularly since I’ve started the Vod articles) That with Amazon Prime you get the “A” list titles  fairly quickly.

This Month we get:  Trumbo, Love & mercy and southbound before Netflix. These are fairly recent films that are high profile.

Then there’s Apocalype Now, Carrie,  The Good The Bad The Ugly etc…

Amazon has a focus on bringing quality films to the table.

Here’s what’s new for June 2016:

June 1
Apocalypse Now (1979)

Perhaps one of the greatest film’s of all time, if you missed this classic of metaphors and imagery, here’s your chance. If you choose to ignore it – “the horror, the horror”
Apocalypse Now: Redux (2001) – Basically a recut of the film, it didn’t really add anything to the story. It’s fun to watch if you have seen the film before..
The Black Stallion (1979)
Carrie (1976)
Criminal Law (1988)
Death Wish 2 (1982)
Double Whammy (2001)
Foolish (1999)

One of the few No Limit films that I never saw.. I’m sure it terrible but Eddie Griffin is incredibly funny.
The Golden Child (1986)

It’s not Beverly Hills Cop, but still Eddie Murphy in his prime..
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (1966)

Another classic, and the climax of Serge Leone’s “Dollars” trilogy, this is easily the best of the trio. Full of action, style and nuanced subplots, this is another one of my top ten films of all time.

Ground Control (1998)
Hammett (1982)
Heartburn (1986)
In & Out (1997)
Iron Eagle IV – On the Attack (1995)
The Million Dollar Hotel (2000)
Mulholland Falls (1996)
One from the Heart (1991)
The Presidio (1988)
The Rage – Carrie 2 (1999)
Runaway Bride (1999)
Six Degrees of Separation (1993)

While the plot of this satire is somewhat of a ho-hum affair, the brilliant performances make Six Degrees Of Separation an enjoyable view.

Sleepover (2004)
Switchback (1997)
Trading Mom (1994)
Ulee’s Gold (1997)
W. (2008)
Wayne’s World (1992)

Exsqueeze Me? This is the 90’s film to watch.

The Program (2016)

June 8
12 Rounds 3 Lockdown (2015)
