What's New on Amazon Prime: August 2020.

Lacking a marquee original, Amazon snaps up a ton of recent releases.

It appears that the box office’s loss is Amazon’s gain. While the original content from Prime this month is pretty thin, there are a ton of recent movies snatched from the theaters.

New and Notable.

  • Arkansas (Aug. 5) – Not a prime original, but Amazon seems to be making their play to be the landing pad for medium sized movies that lost their theater runs due to Covid-19.

A series of mistakes leads to a deadly collision between two criminals and a drug kingpin in Arkansas.

  • Capone (Aug. 10) – Another pickup, with Tom Hardy as the infamous gangster.

  • Chemical Hearts (Aug. 21) – An actual original!
