What's New on Amazon Prime: December 2019.

Amazon stakes its claim on December audiences with the return of favorite shows.

Prime audiences can settle into their seats for holiday binge watching sessions. The award winning Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is back, as is the long delayed second season of Inside Edge, a sports drama about a fictional Indian cricket league. Joining the group is the premier of Clifford The Big Red Dog for kids, and the un-cancellation of Syfy’s space drama, The Expanse.

Amazon’s list of classic films again looks like a shorter version of Hulu’s December offerings. Prime does manage to scoop a few high profile recent movies, such as The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Light of My Life, and Fast Color.

New and Notable.

  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 3 (Dec. 6) The former Mrs. Maisel opens her horizons as her budding comedy career takes her on her first road tour.
  • The Expanse Season 4 (Dec. 13) Amazon resurrects the cult show after its Syfy cancellation. This space drama follows a new land grab as space colonization becomes a reality.
  • The Aeronauts (Dec. 20) A headstrong scientist (Eddie Redmayne) and a rich widow (Felicity Jones) embark on a daring hot-air balloon expedition to explore the upper atmosphere.
