What's New on Amazon Prime: January 2020.

Amazon gets the new year started off well with new original movies and series.

Amazon’s original offerings have been sparse over the last few months. 2020 looks to correct that with eleven new originals. While many of them are comedy specials, we do get an original movie featuring Viola Davis, as well as an epic war mini-series out of India.

The classic films on offer, once again, closely mirror Hulu’s January line-up. A few stand-outs include 2019 wide releases such as Miss Sloane and The Prodigy. Oh, and The Goonies…

Oh no! He’s going to review The Goonies again!

New and Notable.

  • Troop Zero (Jan. 17) – A girl who dreams of going to space recruits a misfit group to create a Birdie Scout troop, all in order to win a chance to be part of NASA’s Golden Record project.
  • Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer (Jan. 31) – A documentary looking at the infamous killer from the perspective of his victims, and the intersection of his killings and the feminist movement of the 1970’s.
  • The Forgotten Army (TBA) – A dramatic mini-series about the overlooked role of the Indian National Army during World War 2. From Khabir Khan (Tubelight).
