What's New on Hulu: August 2019.
Should be magical.

Hulu’s foot comes off the gas after two fantastic summer months of originals.  That’s not to say August isn’t still a good month to be a Hulu subscriber:  we’ve got another entry in the Blumhouse horror anthology, Into the Dark, and two unique documentaries.  The Amazing Jonathan is actually the second documentary this year about the magician, and has more twists and turns than a disappearing act.  If those weren’t enough, Hulu once again dishes out a ton of classic movies.  There’s all of the Star Trek films, including The Next Generation ones that usually get left behind.  There’s also some newer films on offer, such as The Beach Bum, Mission Impossible – Fallout, and How to Train Your Dragon 3.  All in all, a solid month to see out the summer.

New and Notable.

    • Into the Dark:  School Spirit (8/2) – The back to school edition of Hulu’s monthly horror series.  This one is about basically The Breakfast Club, if their school detention was haunted.

    • The Amazing Jonathan (8/16) – a documentary about the latest tour of the magician The Amazing Jonathan,  who was diagnosed with a terminal illness.  As the production goes on, the director begins to question how much of what he’s capturing is true, and how much is illusion…or worse.

    • Jawline (8/23) – a documentary that did well at Sundance, about social media influencers, following a young star from Tulsa who hope to use his fame to escape his small town life.
