What's New on Hulu: August 2020.

Hulu loads up on old favorites in August, alongside a hush-hush comedy from Vince Vaughn.

The big original hitting Hulu in August, The Binge, sound great on paper. That’s good, because there’s not a lot out there about the project besides a basic summary. The Purge meets Wedding Crashers seems to be the consensus, but without a trailer it’s hard to determine which parent contributed more DNA.

Besides a mystery Vince Vaughn comedy, Hulu is jam packed with a ton of classic movies. Rounding out old reliables like the original Star Trek franchise, James Bond, and Rain Man are a few new films like Dora the Explorer and The Peanut Butter Falcon.

As much as I’ve come around to Shia’s work…I don’t know I’d trust him enough to get on a raft with him or take a swig of whatever’s in that bottle.

New and Notable.

  • Dora and the Lost City of Gold (Aug. 3) – Seriously. This movie was a ton of fun, and not just for kids. Check it out.

Dora, a teenage explorer, leads her friends on an adventure to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost city of gold.

  • Find Me in Paris, Season 3 (Aug. 21) – Couldn’t find a trailer for season 3, but show notes make this season seem to be a major turning point in the story of a time traveling ballerina.

A young ballet dancer from 1905 is transported into the 21st century with the power of a magical necklace. While her boyfriend looks for a way to bring her back, she must find a way to fit in and dodge the sinister time agents.

  • The Binge (Aug. 28) – It’s been a while since Vince Vaughan has done a big comedy (although his dramatic work lately has been pretty darn good), so look forward to this with finger’s crossed.

Set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal, the only day anyone can participate in the “fun” is on Binge day.
