What’s New on Hulu: June 2019.

Hulu features a ton of movies on the first of June, plus the highly anticipated third season of The Handmaid’s tale.

I’m liking Hulu’s new normal.  The service has really started to fire on all cylinders:  we start the month with a bevy of classic films, we get several new originals and the return of some of Hulu’s biggest names, and casual viewers get a ton of TV series on the back half of the month.  Hulu’s originals this month are dominated by The Handmaid’s Tale, but it’s their serial form adaptation of Das Boot has got me ready to dive in to a binge session.

Jawohl, Captain, we’re all looking forward to it too!

New and Notable.

    • Ask Dr. Ruth:  a documentary that explores the life of Dr. Westheimer, a Holocaust survivor who became the world’s most beloved sex therapist.

    • The Handmaid’s Tale, Season 3:  June/Offred (Elizabeth Moss) works to strike at the very heart of Gilead, the repressive patriarchal society that holds her captive.

    • Das Boot, Season 1:  The crew of German U-Boat U-612 readies for a new campaign fraught with peril as the Allies begin to gain the upper hand at sea.  Caught up in their struggle is a pair of French resistance fighters who are pressed into service by the Nazi occupation forces.
