One new original movie and two new series garnish a feast of classic movies on Amazon Prime this December.

It’s terrible.  So what?

Normally I would gripe about the slim pickings from Amazon Prime in the exclusive content category, but there are two good reasons to get excited.  First, the new film from Amazon studios is a solid drama that has already proven itself with some key awards.  Second, the streaming service is chock full of movies worth watching this month.  From the guilty pleasures such as Rocky 1-5 and Gremlins 2, to several exciting indie films like Solace and Rumble in Cell Block 99 that we’ve had our eye on this year.

For series, Amazon debuts another entry from its contentious Pilot program.  This month Jean-Claude Van Damme continues to rehabilitate his career with Amazon’s help, and we hope that it goes better than Amazon’s attempt at revamping The Tick.  We also have a British war drama, The Last Post, which should provide some stately counterbalance to whatever splits and jumping kicks JCVD gets up to.
